Specs from the manufacturer and the sources listed below. Last verified Oct 20, 2026.

Good

  • Speakers about 5 mm thick sit in the strap, with tabs to move them over your ears
  • Rated 24-hour battery at 100% volume covers more than a full night
  • Shuts off after 30 minutes without audio and has no audible battery alerts
  • Electronics come out through a magnetic access point so the strap and cups can be machine washed

Not so good

  • $159 is four times the price of Manta's plain mask
  • Manta does not publish the Bluetooth version or charge time
  • Speakers and battery unit can only be wiped, not washed
  • Defect warranty lasts only 6 months

The Manta SOUND adds Bluetooth speakers to Manta’s contoured cup design. The cups are C-shaped and contoured to sit flat against the temple, the same style as the Manta PRO, so there is less foam to push into the pillow when you lie on your side. The cups use Tactel with ventilation holes, the lining is Modal, and the strap is perforated foam with 3D-knit mesh.

The speakers are ultra-thin, about 5 mm by Manta’s figure, and slide on tabs so you can line them up with your ears. Manta rates the battery at 24 hours at 100% volume, which is more than a night at the low volume you would use for sleep. Audio shuts off after 30 minutes of silence, and the mask makes no audible battery warnings, a small detail that matters if you are a light sleeper. Manta does not publish the Bluetooth version, the charging port or the charge time.

For washing, the headphones and battery come out through a magnetic access point. The strap and cups can then go in a cold machine wash in a mesh bag. The electronics themselves should only be wiped with a damp cloth.

The strap uses four-way stretch fabric with a hook-and-loop closure, and an optional overhead strap helps keep it in place if you move a lot. Manta claims the same 100% blackout as its other masks, which is not an independent measurement.

The price is the obvious drawback. At $159 it costs about four times the Manta Sleep Mask. The MUSICOZY 3D mask does a similar job for much less, with a shorter rated battery and a less consistent spec sheet. Manta offers a 60-day money-back guarantee, which makes the price less of a gamble.
