The Manta Sleep Mask (Manta now calls it the ORIGINAL) uses two separate contoured foam cups on a strap instead of one molded shell. You can slide each cup along the strap and change its angle. That matters because the usual leak points, the nose bridge and cheekbones, sit in different places on different faces. A one-piece mask either fits your face or it does not. Manta’s cups can be moved until they do.
The cups are hollow, 5.2 cm wide, and covered in Modal. The strap is polycotton outside with polyester velour inside. It measures 73 cm around and adjusts with elastic bands and a hook-and-loop closure. Manta says the mask blocks 100% of light “even in broad daylight”. That is a brand claim, not an independent light measurement.
Care is the other reason it ranks first. You can machine wash it cold inside a mesh laundry bag with the cups left on, then air dry it flat. Manta warns that washing without the bag can stretch and deform the foam. The MZOO and Nidra are hand wash only.
