Who BlockBlueLight is

BlockBlueLight was founded by Daniel Ebbett in 2016 after his own problems with insomnia and migraines. It runs regional stores for the US, Canada, the UK, Australia and New Zealand. The range covers night-time and daytime blue light glasses, clip-ons and kids’ frames, circadian-friendly lighting, red light panels and sleep masks.

The lighting range

We list two of its lighting products: the Sweet Dreams sleep bulb and the Twilight red plug-in night light. Both use long-wavelength light meant for evening and night use. The idea is sound in principle. In a study of 72 adults, blue light at 446 to 477 nm was the most potent at suppressing melatonin at night, so dim red or amber light should disturb the body clock less than white light of the same brightness. Our guide to the best light color for sleep covers the research.

Claims to check

The about page calls the products “research-backed” and says its lenses target “the exact frequencies of blue and green light,” but it does not link test data or name a testing lab. If the spectrum matters to you, look for a published spectral graph on the specific product page before buying.

Returns

The site lists a 30-day return policy, with terms in its returns center. We did not find a stated product warranty. Compare its bulbs on our circadian light bulbs page.
