Felix Gray
US eyewear brand founded in 2016, known for clear-lens blue light glasses. Good frames, but the lenses filter too little light to help sleep.

Who Felix Gray is
Felix Gray was founded in 2016 and sells blue light glasses in prescription, non-prescription and reader versions, plus kids’ frames and sunglasses. Its site sorts frames into “Working on Screens” and “Unwind & Support Sleep” collections, but both use the same nearly clear lens rather than a separate amber sleep lens.
Do Felix Gray glasses help you sleep?
Probably not. In a 2025 lab analysis of 26 commercial glasses, the clear Felix Gray Optical lens blocked about 23% of clock-relevant (melanopic) light and let through about 93% of visible light. Dark orange Uvex SCT-Orange lenses blocked about 96%. The authors wrote that clear lenses sold as blue blockers “do not deserve to be in the same category” as dark amber and red ones.
Felix Gray’s site says its lenses target “sleep range wavelengths (459-484nm)” and calls them “the only blue light glasses that have a measurable impact” on sleep, but it does not publish a transmission curve or name a test lab. A 2023 Cochrane review also found blue-light filtering lenses may not reduce eye strain from screen use.
That is why we do not list a Felix Gray pair. If the goal is sleep, wear dark orange or red lenses for the 2 to 3 hours before bed. Our blue light glasses for sleep page ranks the options, starting at $16, and the guide to whether blue light glasses work compares lens colors side by side.
When Felix Gray still makes sense
If you want well-made everyday frames with a lens that looks clear on video calls, Felix Gray is a reasonable buy. Just treat the blue light filter as a minor extra, not a sleep aid.
