Eazeye
Maker of reflective LCD monitors and tablets that are lit by room light or sunlight instead of a backlight.
Who Eazeye is
Eazeye Technology sells reflective LCD screens: the Monitor 2, a 24-inch colour monitor with no backlight, the Focus, a 10.3-inch monochrome tablet with an amber front light, and the Radiant Monitor 2, a transflective monitor. Its site does not give a company address, founding date or founders.
What we list
The Focus Tablet and the Monitor 2 are on our low blue light screens page. We do not list the Radiant, which uses a transflective panel with a backlight; The Gadgeteer’s review of it was lukewarm.
Claims to check
Eazeye’s comparison tables list blue light emission as “None” for its reflective screens. That is accurate for a panel with no light of its own, but it means your exposure depends on the room lighting. The Focus’s amber front light comes with no published spectrum. The spec pages also contain errors, such as a battery listed as “6000 m Ah”. The Monitor 2 was reviewed well by PCPer, which found it best in bright rooms and outdoors.
Warranty and returns
Eazeye offers a 1-year warranty against defects and 30-day returns in original condition, refunding the product price but not shipping. Orders can take up to 2 months to process, plus about 5 weeks to deliver, and duties are extra.
