Amazon Basics
Amazon's own house brand, selling low-cost household goods including room darkening curtains and a portable blackout shade.
What Amazon Basics is
Amazon Basics is Amazon’s private label, sold through its own Amazon storefront. It covers everyday household products at low prices, from cables to bedding. Returns and support run through Amazon’s normal policies.
What we list
Two Amazon Basics products are on our blackout curtains page: room darkening curtains with grommets, and a portable blackout curtain shade for travel or renters. They are here because they are cheap and widely available, not because they are the darkest options.
What to check
“Room darkening” and “blackout” are not regulated terms. Room darkening fabric often lets a glow through, especially in light colors, and any curtain leaks light at the edges unless it overlaps the window frame or runs in side channels. For a bedroom that needs to be truly dark, check reviews for photos taken against daylight and plan to cover the gaps. The guide do blackout curtains help you sleep explains why darkness at night matters and how much light gets through common setups.
Amazon listings change often, so confirm the current size, color and fabric on the listing before you buy.
